Is It Just Me??

What was your morning like? My routine: I let the dogs out, feed the dogs, make the coffee, make breakfast for my daughter, empty the dishwasher, pet the dogs, fill the dishwasher with breakfast dishes, fill the bird feeders, peek at the paper and then take my coffee to the computer to check my e-mail (I work at home so I shower after all this, don't worry). After a bit I got tired of answering e-mails and needed a distraction so I poured another cup of coffee and then sat down to go over my pocket calendar for the rest of the week, letting the caffeine do its work for the day while I also browsed through a couple of catalogs that recently came in the mail.

I rarely order from catalogs, except my favorite quilting catalogs, but I was drawn into this one because it had so many bizarre things in it. I don't know - is it just me or do we really need and does anybody actually buy -

Ruffled washer and dryer covers?? Let's just cover everything in our homes so we don't ever have to dust . . .

No need to explain this one . . .

A heated wrap. If she's so cold, why doesn't she just put on some clothes??

All 8 Apple Sitters for just one low price!!

This item has to be my favorite . . . a machine to jiggle away your chin fat! On sale! If any of you have this, let me know if it works, okay?

Oh dear love the entertainment value in this post, gosh I don't think frilly washer and dryer covers would ever get used at my house my machines are too busy being used, Lol (I have four kids and live on a farm!)

I love the grin on the model's face as she's demonstrating the chin thing... interesting that as old as I am, I have never ever heard of dust covers for a washer and dryer... ever!

So funny, but somebody must be buying this stuff! As my Mom would say, "fess up!"

hope you made your way to the sewing machine and whipped up a quilt for the top of your washing machine! I know people who have little quilts on their washer and dryer! not me they get used to much!

I had to laugh at the washing machine/dryer covers, straight out of The Donna Reed Show!, at least that is what came to mind. What a terrible waste of good fabric !!! At least your entertainment for the morning was free!!!

This post is too funny. I never seen a cover for washer and dryer, must be for someone that doesn't use them.

Oh my gosh, I'm chuckling over all those crazy things. I can't imagine washer and dryers covers, but I know that someone has them out there. It's amazing what people will spend their money on.

I have just sent the link to your blog to a friend as she will have a great laugh when she sees the quilted cover for the washer. Her family all comment on what else she will make a quilt for! They are not quilters, so have no understanding...but quilted covers for your washer and dryer.... is maybe a bit OTT?

What a loss to the World if we didn't have this type of entertainment arrive in our mailbox! Cheers from Cairns where I don't think it will ever stop raining again.

I'm still chuckling...but I think this is why catalogue shopping took a while to catch on in Australia, I think you guys are about a hundred and fifty years ahead of us in this department.

The mind boggles over those apple things, what exactly are you supposed to do with them?

Great post, truly...I'm still chuckling.
Cheers Margaret

I come to your blog to see your darling quilts, but this post is hilarious! Love the washer and drier cover. But why buy it when we could just whip up a patchwork cover? Maybe you could create a pattern for us?

My laundry room is the entryway from the garage, hence the dumping ground, so my washer and dryer sport little seasonal 20x25" quilts to keep the tops from being chipped. --Wonder where I get inspiration for those small quilts? ;-)
