Seems like everyone always goes to a nice beach for the winter . . .
I spend my winter in Chicago.
Yes, it's still cold here. But, so what. I can still go to the beach. (My daughter lives about a block away from here.)
See that dark speck? It's a hawk, out on the ice. I started to take a photo for the blog and my husband said "Are you sure you want to show that? It's eating its prey." His eyes are better than mine, LOL.

Since I hate the heat and humidity of the summertime, I absolutely loved your trip to the beach!
Amazing pics. I am sweltering in 40 degrees so your photos were lovely and cool.
Great pictures! Can't wait to visit Chicago one day.
Beautiful views, and the hawk - that's nature. Thanks for sharing the photos.
Kathy, I just love visiting Chicago!! Although I live so close I don't get there as much as I would like to. Great pictures!
Living on the other side of the Lake, in Michigan, I really enjoyed your beautiful photos. It has been a harsh winter in the lakes region but it has provided some amazing photographs. I live about 2 hours from the lake and have been wishing I could get over to the shoreline to see the ice for myself. Thank you for sharing your views.
I don't get to the beach or the city very often, but I love it whenever I do get there. Thanks for sharing. My neighbor just left for a vacation on a tropical island. As great as a tropical island sounds right now, I think it would make coming back to Illinois winter feel even colder than the -15F it was this morning.
I love that Chicago is right on the water like that--your photos look great!
