A Quiet Lazy Day

Good morning! Isn't this the cutest cup? It goes so nicely with my quilt too.

I just love cups that have a design printed on the bottom.

It's raining a bit here and I think it's going to be a quiet, lazy day. My son came over last night and is going to spend the day with me. My guess is his laundry needs to get done and he wants a free lunch. He has to work on a paper for school. I may get some reading done. Oh, and I have to work on the Retreat quilt - only 8 more days! Will she get it finished in time? Stay tuned!

Today is our 27th anniversary. My wonderful husband was grumping at me about something this morning as he was rushing around getting ready for work and so I waited until he was finished and then smiled sweetly at him and said "Happy Anniversary, Hon!" He stopped grumping for a minute and then said "Oh." Guess I won't be any getting diamonds or jewels or flowers unless they have them in the cafeteria at work since I don't think he will be shopping much today, LOL.

The happy couple.  (Mustaches were very popular back then.) What a beautiful dress! Now sealed and packed away in a big box on a shelf in my daughter's closet, waiting . . .

Look - twenty-seven years ago I had a waist! Not a tiny waist, but still a waist.

Well, I don't really remember this moment when it appeared the honeymoon was over before it actually began but I'm guessing he probably just said something to really annoy me, LOL . . . Happy Anniversary, Hon!

Happy Anniversary! I saved my wedding dress too, but it might be a little less white now :-) It looks similar to yours.

Happy Anniversary! These are the times when we are just too comfortable in our marriage, so we forget that special day;) Mine just asks what I want, not sure if I like that any better, lol.

Awww. Happy anniversary! 27 years is a happy milestone. Congratulations to you.

And isn't it nice that our children still like to come and visit us (even if their laundry is included in the visit :) ) ?

That cup is lovely and my first thought before I read your statement is that it looked so good on that gorgeous quilt too!

Blessings to you and many more anniversaries :)

Happy Anniversary! I think an evening out to dinner is definitely what you should do. My hub and I are celebrating 27 this year also (December).
That little cup is so precious and my first thought was that it really looked great on that quilt. I also adore cups with little surprises painted on the inside.

Happy Anniversary! I got a chuckle out of the comment that your son needed his laundry done. My husband always used to say that's the main reason Isaah came home every three weeks. Now he has a washer and dryer and he still comes home. We Moms know they come home for the mothering! Hope your evening is one of surprises.

Happy Anniversary! I will be celebrating 36 years on Oct. 4th. Such a beautiful time of year for a wedding. Here in northern WI the leaves are almost always at their peak the weekend closest to our day. I have 3 lovely daughters who are all married now and not a single one of them was interested in my wedding dress. Seems they all had ideas of their own. But I do have 3 granddaughters now. Maybe one of them will be into "vintage" by the time they are thinking about it. Do something fun today.
