It's that time of year again - time to make red, white and blue quilts for the upcoming holiday season. Here are some ideas for you to celebrate your love of Americana from a new book, Oh Glory - 11 Quilt projects to Salute the Stars and Stripes by Kathy Flowers.

Oh Glory includes quite a few projects to brighten up your home around the summer holidays, many of them with the scrappy look we love. This quilt that uses a Martha Washington Star block combined with a Friendship Star is probably my favorite. Which one is yours??

I love Patriotic quilts ~ the pillow caught my eye right off. I also like the Martha Washington/Friendship Star quilt and the Ohio Star Banner wallhanging. Oh and the tiny flag quilt is adorable...love it all!

My husband is a decorated VV and he is coming up on the 50th anniversary of the day he was injured in 1967.

I've always loved red, white, and blue--and have the stash to prove it! Thanks for the opportunity to get some more ideas for using it up.
This is a book that I will have to look for. Everything looks so happy and bright. What is nice about small quilts is that they fit anywhere. I love tucking them in unexpected places, even on the refrigerator where it always looks messy with just paper on it.
These are all so pretty ! Veterans in my family go all the way back to the revolutionary war, and every war since ( except Korean war ). So Our family loves The Red, White and Blue !!!

One of my favorite color combinations is red, white, and blue. I like the fact that it is depicted in many flags around the world. The US flag, the flag of Texas, the Union Jack, just to name a few.
