Made from some of my new Marcus Fabrics - the lovely pink and brown floral is from the Bancroft line, coming to stores in March.
Look familiar? The block is a prettier pink and brown version of the center part of this quilt from my book The Civil War Sewing Circle. All it needs are the half-square triangles and borders and I'm done.
It's such a romantic-looking block now.
Making a quilt like this with some lovely romantic fabrics might be just what our heroine needs to pull herself out of her winter doldrums . . .

You crack me up Kathy!!! Thanks for the giggle... Julia
I love it. I purposly don't use fabrics because I don't want them to be gone. I miss out on enjoying projects made out of my favorite fabrics which is why I bought them in the first place. We are strange creatures, aren't we. I love your new book and can't wait to make some projects out of my favorite fabrics. By the way, I have been teaching a miniatures class at my local Quilt shop using your book, "Prairie Children and their quilts". Along with the projects in the book, I have down sized some of them to even smaller sizes. We are loving it. Thanks for all your inspiration.

Those fabrics are beautiful and look great in that block. I love the fabrics!
Beautiful Kathy! I'll keep a lookout for the Bancoft line of fabrics next month, they are very pretty!
Your block is lovely and yes, romantic. I love all my Civil War fabrics and, at times, have had trouble cutting into them. But I've come to learn that it is much better to make them into a small quilt that I can enjoy rather than leave them on the shelf. Your new book is fabulous, I received my copy a couple of weeks ago and have already made the Scrap Squares Doll Quilt. I think the next one will have to be the One-Patch Doll Quilt with a lovely floral thrown into the mix, and perhaps a lighter border. Thanks for putting together such an inspiring new book, I've been enjoying it on a daily basis. I'll probably have to get another one as this one will soon be worn out.lol
Love your fabrics and the block. Thanks for the giggle. Hugs
I was so hoping you would share with us your projects for these delicious new fabrics and voila there it is today...Lovely

Great block. That one is on my list to do, so maybe I will wait for the Bancroft line to show up!
